Susan G. Komen National Race for the Cure. In June 2007, Steve had the great privilege of performing on the National Mall for the National Race for the Cure. The sheer magnitude of the event and the emotion surrounding it afforded countless moments of sublime beauty, true in our own audiences. We hope to return next year.
Downs Syndrome Association of Northern Virginia. Steve was thrilled to be asked to perform for the Downs Syndrome Association of Northern Virginia’s annual holiday party.
Morquio Foundation. Last summer, Steve performed at the Mad Hatter Tea Party, benefiting Morquio research. Morquio Syndrome is a very rare progressive disorder arresting growth and causing severe bone disease in children. If left untreated, the life expectancy of those with Morquio Syndrome is 20-30 years of age. Currently, there is no cure, but hope is on the horizon.
Children’s National Medical Center. Steve has done three shows in the past year and a half for Children’s Hospital in Washington, DC. Such life and work taking place there – he continually looks forward to performing at Children’s.
Fairfax INOVA Hospital. Steve performed for the pediatric oncology unit at Fairfax Hospital in Northern Virginia.
Junior League of Northern Virginia. Steve performed at the Junior League of Northern Virginia’s annual Enchanted Forest event in Arlington. Proceeds benefited the Junior League’s community programs, helping children across Northern Virginia.
Brian Bedell 2-Young Foundation. Steve performed at a charity fundraiser for a wonderful foundation based in Vienna, Virginia, which raises money to support medical research to discover new treatments and eventually a cure for brain cancer.
Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Steve’s visit to the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center at Georgetown University Hospital was hosted by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. There he met with the most wonderful children. Such big hearts, and much big courage. He hopes to return again soon.
Bloomingdale’s Shopping Event. Steve has appeared two years running at local DC area Bloomingdale’s stores as part of their annual multi-charity shopping benefit.
